DIY Turban Headband

Headbands are not only for keeping hair out of your face, but a great way to accessorize your outfit.  It adds a splash of fun! Surprisingly, they are easier to make than you’d imagine, and the best part is that they are completely customizable. When you make the DIY Turban Headband, YOU pick the fabric, and you custom fit the headband to the circumference of your head. They also make great homemade gifts! If you can sew a straight line then you can sew a turban headband. It’s a win/win. Here’s how.

Turban Headband How-to:

Supplies: 

  • Jersey Cotton Fabric or an old t-shirt
  • Sewing Machine
  • Scissors

Step 1 & 2: Cut two strips of fabric into 5″ x 24″ strips.

Step 3: Fold strips in half lengthwise, inside out. Sew along the open edge of the fabric, lengthwise.

Step 4: Turn inside out.

Step 5: Once you’ve sewed both strips and they’re turned inside out lay them in an X. One on top of the other.

Step 6: Fold the bottom strip in half over the top strip.

Step 7: Fold the remaining strip in half.

Step 8: Sew all four ends together.

That’s it! The quickest, most comfortable headband ready in under 15 minutes.  It would make a fantastic gift idea!
